Position: Home Maker
Job Summary: Responsible to provide services such as general household activities provided in the home of an eligible member to maintain a healthy and safe home environment for a member, when the person ordinarily responsible for these activities is absent or unable to manage these tasks.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
- At least one year demonstrating experience in a similar role and working knowledge of CPR and first aid. Experience related to health programs (hospital, non-medical home care, nursing facility or hospice).
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills including ability to effectively communicate with clients.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to perform basic housekeeping tasks, prepare meals and run errands.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, a caring approach and physical fitness.
- Ability to ensure clients safety and provide comfort.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, routines and standard accepted practices.
Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Serve as the agency’s internal resource for providing homemaking Services that may include the following:
- Routine light housecleaning, such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning bathroom and kitchen areas
- Meal preparation
- Dishwashing
- Bed making
- Laundry
- Shopping
- Teaching the skills listed above to you if you are capable of learning to do such tasks for yourself. Teaching shall result in a decrease of weekly units required within ninety days. If such a savings in service units is not realized, teaching shall be deleted from the care plan.
- Services must increase the parent’s or caregiver’s ability to give the child needed care. Services may be hands-on help, performing a task for the child or prompting the child to perform a task. Services shall be only in the permanent living space of the member.
- Maintaining a hygienic and safe environment.

Environmental Elements
Employee works in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
